Isnt that a contradiction Seems as though your comment should have said coding tools FOR amatuers, rather than NOT coding tools for amatuers. It's not the year 2000 any longer, there are some very innovative and forward thinking companies who have grabbed more pie than Adobe would like. As lve said before web development its a hugely fractured market and Adobe are looking for the biggest piece of the pie which they would find difficult given the numerous products available which can create a website or app. To me Adobe have rolled over in this sector and admitted they are just not competitive or willing to be. Wappler, not my cup of tea but it's miles ahead of anything Adobe has produced, past, present and possibly future.Īll of which are used by professional developers It has nothing which competes with the likes of: Adobe is a leader in making software available for the professional market as such it has no credible web/app development product in my opinion that you could put into that category. I don't know what was meant by that comment from Nancy. You can still use DW, it will be good for a few more years yet if you don't want to take advantage of newer workflows which will occur over time and probably won't make it into DW according to the signals coming out of Adobe. Not upgrading the server behaviours killed it stone dead. DW lost its way and edge when Adobe were convinced by a lot of nut cases that things like fluid grids were a good, future proof, investment instead of investing in what it was known for, easy entry level software for dynamic website production. I guess Pinegrow editor would be closest to what DW has become today. That's a lot more difficult to do these days as there is an endless choice of software for developing websites and apps and theres not enough financial return if you get it wrong. Adobe was never good at competition, rather they had a history of just buying companies out to fulfill a gap. There is something called Adobe 'experience', but that as far as l can tell is really aimed at high end applications and teams of developers and analysts.Īdobe have seemingly conceded defeat in terms of web editors, there's too much competition which can blow whatever they produce out of the water. No, it's not replacing DW with any similar program for web/app development.

The screen is still a touchscreen and makes more extensive use of this feature. Continuous shooting 12fps, 7pfs with focus trackingĪs well as the electronic viewfinder, the GH4's rear screen has been upgraded, now offering a 720x480 pixel output from 1.04m dots. Not all of these additions will be useful to everyone (in fact I'd wager that nobody will make use of all the new features), but, whether your background is stills or video, the GH4 is likely to offer plenty of tools to support your video making. The camera can also generate color bars (for calibration) and the ability to express shutter speed and ISO in terms of shutter angle and gain. In addition to the 4K, the GH4 also includes focus peaking, two zebra settings (to highlight over-exposed regions) and control over Master Pedestal (black level) and luminance scale (16-255, 16-235 or 0-255). Focus tracking should also improve, thanks to Panasonic's 'depth-from-defocus' (DFD) technology which attempts to assess how out-of-focus the lens is, based on profiles of how the company's lenses render out-of-focus regions.īut, as mentioned before, it's the video capabilities and the supporting features that make the GH4 such a striking camera. Continuous shooting is boosted to 12 frames per second, 7.5fps with continuous focus. Most obvious is a more capable shutter which can fire as quickly as 1/8000th seconds and syncs with flashes at up to 1/250th of a second. The stills photographer using the GH4 benefits from a number of performance and usability improvements. The most striking difference is that the GH4 can capture 4K footage (both in the DCI 4K and UHD 4K resolutions), but the extent to which the GH4 supports a professional workflow is arguably just as significant. But that shouldn't be taken to mean that the GH4 is a minor update. Just like its predecessor, the GH4 wraps its sealed magnesium alloy body around a 16MP Four Thirds sensor. Panasonic's message about listening to professional videographers is also familiar but the extent to which they're catered-for is unpredented on a camera with such a mass-market price tag. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 looks an awful lot like its predecessor, the GH3, but don't let that familiarity cloud the fact that this is one of the most capable stills/video cameras we've ever seen. Of about 140, 000 Dutch Jews registered in the Netherlands in 1941, 102, 200 were murdered in the camps. Indeed, about seventy-five percent of Dutch Jews died in Nazi concentration camps, a striking difference from neighboring Belgium, where the proportion was forty percent, or France, where it was twenty-five percent. I began exploring the diaries in 2019 for a particular purpose: I wanted to understand how the Netherlands, a famously tolerant country, known for welcoming Jews as early as the sixteenth century, had lost a greater proportion of its Jewish population to the Holocaust than any other Western European nation. The collection, housed at the NIOD Institute for War Holocaust and Genocide Studies, contains more than 2, 100 diaries gathered in the immediate postwar period. This daily trip took on an increasing poignancy for me over the past three years, as I delved into an extraordinary collection of World War II journals from the Netherlands for my new book, The Diary Keepers: World War II As Written by the People Who Lived Through It, forthcoming from Ecco/Harper Collins. What was far less likely was that I would end up living around the corner from Anne Frank’s hiding place, in the attic of Prinsengracht 263 in Amsterdam, and that I would bike past it while taking my own Jewish daughter to school. I couldn’t help noticing that my mother’s face in war-era photos bore a striking resemblance to Anne’s: black bob, bright eyes, and glint of intelligent mischief in her smile. As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor who spent her Hungarian childhood in hiding, I am not entirely surprised that I was drawn to the diary of Anne Frank as a girl. Pokemon Tower Defense 2 is the sequel to the first game. Third act, flashback of the scheming of new rules for fry export. Second act, Edhy Prabowo fell into his own toy. First act, Edhy Prabowo as an intellectual actor who has power in the fry export game. Edhy Prabowo's visual framing process using illustrations on the cover of Tempo media looks like a visual story highlights, depicting one chapter after another. Abstract subjects such as 'export' are presented connotatively through symbols. Of the 4 covers studied, Tempo seems to be trying to present its main subject in a denotative way, by using Edhy Prabowo's caricature and fry visuals appeared as the image focus. To analyze Visual Framing, Rodriguez-Dimitrova's 4 levels of visual framing model was used. The Gamson-Modigliani framing analysis model is used to analyze the main cover line texts contained in the cover illustration. This study uses a qualitative approach with framing analysis method. There is an effort to frame the figure of Edhy Prabowo in the case of fry export, visually as well as textually in the article contents. Tempo tried to present the figure of Edhy Prabowo on several covers by using a variety of intriguing visual illustrations, surreal depiction and signs. Tempo publications between 23-30 November 2020, raised the issue of corruption in the export of lobster seeds (Bahasa: Benur). The visuals in these covers are therefore quite significant in their meanings and interpretations. Furthermore, they communicate a message of hope and urge them to fight against the virus. The action narrative and colorful illustrations aim to motivate the young audience in a positive manner. The findings revealed that the participants’ actions and overall circumstances in these covers are highly meaningful. Framework, selected for the study, is ‘Semiotic Analysis’ by Kress and van Leeuwen (2006). The researchers have followed the qualitative approach and the data have been collected using purposive sampling technique to provide a holistic interpretation of the selected covers. These covers are new emerging literature and serve to narrate a global discourse related to COVID-19. This study aims to provide a semiotic analysis of the visual representations of Covid-19 in the children’s book covers selected on a global level. They are affected not only physically but also emotionally and mentally due to the virus and quarantine period. Children in this regard are no exemption. The massive spread of Coronavirus has badly affected the entire globe and lives of the people irrespective of age or gender. If you want to make manual color and exposure corrections, there are half a dozen sliders to let you do exactly that. In our tests, this worked particularly well on landscapes but wasn't always great for other subjects. You can also choose individual photos to enhance with the software's one-click optimization tool. Importing pictures is a breeze, and once they've been added to the pool, you can select several at once to rotate or mirror, saving you valuable time. Its interface is clean and uncluttered, and utterly devoid of ads (although you'll need to submit an email address before you can start using it). This delay allows LiveCode to process any other events that may have occurred ‚Äì mouse clicks on the folder tree for example. If you've got a lot of photos that you need to edit in a hurry, Ashampoo Photo Optimizer could be the best free photo editor for you. The last thing the "processImage" handler does is call itself using the "send" command but with a small delay. The "processImage" handler processes a single image file into a thumbnail (as outlined in the section above). Luckily, LiveCode provides a simple way to loop through the list while still allowing responsiveness to other events ‚Äì the "Send" message loop.įirstly, the reloadThumbnails function starts the processing loop up by sending itself the "processImage" message right away ‚Äì tFiles contains the list of image files send "processImage tFiles" to me in 0 millisecs However, doing things this way means that the application is locked up and unresponsive until all images have been processed ‚Äì there is no-way to change folder, view an image or even cancel the listing until all files have been processed. When it came to processing the list of image files into thumbnails I did it first using a simple loop repeat with line tFile in tFileList Again, you can look up import snapshot in the Dictionary for more information on how to use this versatile command. You can see exactly how I used this in the Image Browser, the script is at the bottom of the "thumbnailView" group script, in the function called "processImage". Optionally, save the thumbnail image to disk cache Clean up after ourselves delete the last image delete image "Foo"ĩ. Put the data of the snapshot into our thumbnail set the text of image id tID to the text of the last imageĨ. Create a snapshot of the temporary (resized) image import snapshot from rect ( the rect of image "Foo" ) of image "Foo"ħ. The image will be automatically resized to fit the new temporary imageĦ. Set the filename of the temporary image to the image on disk set the filename of image "Foo" to tFileĥ. Create a temporary blank image of the correct size for the thumbnail create invisible image "Foo"Ĥ. Create the new empty thumbnail image create image in group "thumbnailView"ģ. By default, the global paintCompression property is set to "rle" in standalones and "png" in the development environment but we want it to be "png" in standalones too. This specifies the compression format used for storing an image. Below you will find the main steps to achieve this.ġ. The easiest way to achieve this is to use the import snapshot command. This file can then be written out to disk to create a thumbnail cache. What we actually want to achieve is to create a thumbnail that just contains that actual data of the smaller, resized image. Although this will work, you will very quickly run out of memory if you try and load in thumbnails of a folder containing several hundred large images. However, when you resize an image in LiveCode you still retain all the data that was in the original file. As you know, it is very easy to load images and resize them ‚Äì and you would be forgiven for thinking that this is all that is required to create a thumbnail view of an image file. “I think it adds a visceral layer of immersion,” he said. Simone said the key was to mirror what the human eye sees naturally. And they just played so well and so nicely to 3D that I think it really adds another layer of immersion.” The environment we had to work with was these beautiful, epic landscapes of these battlefields. “Tanks looked really nice people walking across these giant, epic fields. “To be honest, it just fell into place beautifully,” he said. While 2D to 3D conversion is Stereo D’s bread and butter, McCoy assumed that converting “They Shall Not Grow Old” would present more challenges than it did. At the beginning a single shot could take 11 months to fully restore and convert, but by the end of the three-year process the company could turnaround a shot in two months. Along the way, the Stereo D team learned which tools worked best in which situation, along with creating new ones. The restored and colorized footage was sent back to Jackson’s Park Road Post in New Zealand so that Jackson, or someone from his team, could sign off and approve an image before it could appear in the film. Every highlight goes to a nice cool blue tone.” Every shadow goes to a darker more of a gray tone. “The highs, mids, and lows are all keyed differently and the colors are combined differently, so nothing has a pure green or a pure blue. “Nothing has a single color on it in the entire image,” said McCoy. The Stereo D development team also created a piece of to help with the shading of colors, so they would appear more realistic. Jackson’s team supplied incredible reference material for the colorization process with everything from actual WWI uniforms worn by the men to photographs of the locations, some as they exist today. Every frame had to be painstakingly rotoscoped - isolating, and literally tracing, things as finite as a blade of grass – so that correct color could be applied to each element of the frame. The most painstaking work was the colorization process. It was to bring it forward to make it look as it did on the day. “So if it was photographed, our job wasn’t to change it. “One of the cornerstones that Peter was instilling in us and our artists was staying as true to the original material as we possibly could,” said Stereo D Producer Mark Simone. To restore the archival footage and transform it into a 24 frames-per-second, color, 3D film, Jackson turned to Stereo D, a company that specialized in converting blockbusters (Marvel and the Star Wars films) from 2D to 3D. The hope was that by restoring the footage and removing from it what made it look and feel dated, he would also remove the filter that prevents a modern viewer from relating to the soldiers up on screen. Jackson’s dream was to make the 100-year-old footage look as modern as possible. To make his groundbreaking World War I documentary, “ They Shall Not Grow Old,” director Peter Jackson received unprecedented access to the Imperial War Museum’s film archive in London. Probably because the plastic back conducts less heat than glass back though. I used the S21 before and it never seemed to get hot. I've used many Galaxy S phones and it's a bit disappointing to see that the heat problem is still present. Guess the Snapdragon Gen 2 chipset is really efficient, especially with the increased clock speed tailored to S23 lineup. I'm surprised that the S23 has so much better battery life compared to the S22 with just a 200mah difference. Since k zoom was last galaxy to have optical zoom. What I would expect is that if there was a memory leak, the build would fill up the heap over time and permanently remain high. Are there multiple JVMs running (you can check with jps) that happen to be shutdown when you kill the daemon? The JVM is limited to ~3GB in your example, so it should not be able to consume more than that. I don't believe that the increasing class count alone would account for system wide troubles. The number of classes loaded does seem high in your case, but I can't tell if they would eventually be GC'd from the snapshot alone. Gradle needs to keep around classes between builds because that keeps them warmed up in the JVM and subsequent builds can benefit from that. Which version of the JDK are you using? Are you seeing high GC time or OutOfMemory errors? Unless you're seeing build failures with your current settings, I don't think there's necessarily a problem. Hi don't see anything too concerning in the snapshot you provided, although I do see that the number of classes loaded is going up a lot. =-Xmx3096m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 Link for the JProfile snapshot of the gradle process while making 3 or 4 builds with minor changes to the project: Your Environment RAM usage is always increasing in an alarming rate, forcing the system to use the swap partion and making it unresponsive until the java process is killed Steps to Reproduce No incremental RAM usage on every build Current Behavior I used JProfile to check what happens when making some builds on the same deamon, and I believe that the issue is that loaded classes are not disposed after the build finishes, and every new build after that adds more classes to the process. Making sequential builds without killing gradle deamon leads to lots of memory consumed that is only released by killing the java process. |
